Snapshot of a proton (but imagine all of the quarks (u,d,s), antiquarks (same with a bar on them), and gluons rushing around near the speed of light, banging into each other, and appearing and disappearing. The size of the proton, set by the confinement scale, is inversely proportional to its mass. (M.Strassler 2010)
