The Moon will occult (i.e. move in front of and eclipse) the planet Venus today, as visible (yes, in daytime, if you have binoculars or a telescope) across the United States sometime between 11 and 12:45 this morning, depending on where you live.  Earlier out west, later in the east. If you want to see the heavens are really in motion, here’s a chance.  Below is a link to an article that gives the details:

  1. I wish you can put the record straight with this global warming “science” and do an article about someday?

Yes, it is prudent to do something since we don’t have enough data (or do we?) to make reliable model(s) for predicting any real threat but the “truth” must be told. The proposed treaties will change the world forever I for one think it’s also prudent to get it right.

    What are your thoughts, Professor?

  2. Re the previous post, I too am sorry to hear of your current situation. Hoping that something good comes your way soon, but keep us informed, and I for one will definitely be buying your book… at the very least a small token of my appreciation of this excellent and informative site.

  3. Matt the States may not want you but I’m sure plenty of quality European Universities would love to have you. Get over here! We need you back in science, your blogs are a treasure to those of us interested in cutting edge physics and cosmology.

  4. Hi Matt, so sorry to hear that you are “outside of science”, and that your blogging will be curtailed. I’m sure you are right that other bloggers will be keeping the information flowing, but from my experience, it is not easy to find another who is as readily understandable as you. You have helped me through several problems, and I thank you for that.

I wish you well in whatever you are doing, and hope you will be able to return to science, and will not have to abandon the blogging completely.

    Best wishes,
    Bill Stidwill.

  5. WE MISS YOU!!!!!!
Very sorry to hear about your loss of job, BTW. Maybe we could do a crowd-funding for you so that you can keep working on Physics. 😉
