The LHC continues to go gangbusters. The collision rate nearly doubled in the last week, and the detectors are accumulating in three days as much data as they recorded all of last year!
If all continues to go well, this will be the year in which either the simplest type of Higgs particle will be ruled out, or the first evidence (if not outright discovery) will arise. Other possible Higgs particle types may take more time, though some may take less. We’re all pinching ourselves, and hoping for no serious problems at the collider during the year.
